It is rare for a fighter to make his professional debut in a promotion the calibre of Strikeforce, especially at the age of 47. However Herschel Walker will make his debut with the promotion on January 30th, and according to his trainer neither his age or lack of experience will slow him down.

In a recent interview with the San Jose Mercury News, head trainer at American Kickboxing Academy Javier Mendez spoke about Walker’s debut.

“He's no joke. He's green. But he's got unbelievable ability and is really, really strong. He also has a willingness to learn. You can see why he was such a great football player. He won't shy away from anything.”

Despite his lack of experience in MMA Walker is a gifted athlete, possessing a sixth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. There is no prospective opponent as of yet for Herschel Walker, however it is confirmed that his debut will come on January 30th.
