Strikeforce is set to return to CBS for the second time this April with a stacked card, spearheaded by former PRIDE champions, Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson.
CBS Primetime Senior Executive Vice President, Kelly Kahl confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com, adding that the show will likely take place in San Jose, California, the spiritual home of the promotion. No date has been set as yet.
This will spark speculation that WAMMA heavyweight champion, Emelianenko will finally square off with Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem on the card, especially when you remember the Dutchman called out Fedor for a fight in April.
On top of that will be former UFC star, Dan Henderson’s promotional debut, although it is still undecided which weight class he will compete at first. That said it’s widely expected that he will square off with middleweight champ, Jake Shields at the event, although Shields camp refused to comment at this time. |
