It has been confirmed that the Strikeforce event on April 17th, set to air on CBS will feature two huge title fights as middleweight champion, Jake Shields defends against former UFC and PRIDE star, Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi and “King Mo” Lawal will collide for the 205 pound title.

The two fights were confirmed by sources close to the situation to MMB earlier today, making this event one not to be missed.

Shields recent move up to middleweight was soon rewarded by a shot at the vacant 185 pound title in a showdown with Jason “Mayhem” Miller. After five hard fought rounds it was Shields that emerged victorious. As for Hendo, he was last seen in action inside the UFC’s octagon, knocking out British contender, Michael “The Count” Bisping last July.

MMB were the first to announce that Lawal would challenge Mousasi for the 205 pound title after the talented up and comer knocked out Mike Whitehead in a heavyweight contest late last year. Mousasi is on a fifteen fight winning streak, defeating the likes of Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza on route to capturing gold with both Strikeforce and DREAM.

Stay tuned to MMB in the coming weeks for more build up to these two massive fights that are set to air live on CBS.
